Washingtonia filifera H.Wendl. ex de Bary
ArecaceaeGender dedicated to George Washington, is a species that grows in a naturalized way oasis located in deserts such as the Mojave and Sonora, between the US and Mexico. Gardening is basically intended for ornamental purposes, such as isolated specimens for group formation or alignments in streets and avenues. As an isolated individual, the greatest exponent in the city is located in the Parque de María Luisa; as a group we highlight, the ones in front of the Cuba Pavilion of the American Exhibition of 1929 in the Paseo de la Palmera. It is of relatively fast growth in sunny climates like Sevilla, the desert fan palms of the Real Alcázar, have a thicker trunk than the wahingtonianas robustas, they stand up to one of the highest levels of these gardens, along with casuarinas and eucalyptus that are the limit to the walk of Catalina de Rivera.
