The labyrinth garden was built in 1914, once the old one disappeared by the wish of Maria Christina of Austria, Duchess of Teschen (and Queen of Spain as the second wife of King Alfonso XII, and regent of Alfonso XIII), who did not like to see lost ladies and gentlemen of the court lost inside it. The current labyrinth ends the axis that begins in the Jardín de la Danza (Garden of the Dance) and continues through the Jardín de las Damas (Garden of the Ladies) and the gazebo of the Alcoba. Regarding the flora, this garden is comprised of cypresses, arborvitaes and myrtles that give off their its aroma during the walk or reveal their shapes from the top of the Gallery of Grutesco.
